This is a series of interviews with famous sports people from the past in conversation with Cliff Morgan, the international rugby player and one-time BBC sports presenter. As far as cricket goes he talks at length with Ted Dexter who was an aggressive middle-order batsman of ferocious power and a right-arm medium bowler. He captained Sussex and England in the early 1960s and was involved in early versions of the one-day game.

Other Sporting Legends in this series include:

Mary Peters won the gold medal for the Pentathlon at the Munich Olympics in 1972, beating the West German favourite by the narrowest of margins with a performance which also broke the world record.

Stirling Moss is often described as the best driver never to win the Formula 1 World Championship. He was runner-up four times, winning 16 Grand Prix races, before a serious crash in 1962 ended his career

Tom Finney “Tom Finney would have been great in any team, in any match and in any age – even if he had been wearing an overcoat,” was Bill Shankly’s verdict on Tom Finney. Some people rated him more highly than his contemporary, Stanley Matthews.

Walter Winterbottom was the first full-time manager of the England football team. He was appointed in 1946 and held the job for sixteen years.

These interviews are available in pairs on CD at the bargain price of £2.00 each plus p&p. Just call us on +44 (0) 1379 852318 or email editor@crimsoncats.co.uk. We are trying to clear out our last few CDs so this offer is open while stocks last

If you prefer, each interview can be downloaded individually from our website.

Audible has the largest collection of audiobooks and ad-free audio content in the world. It works as both a subscription service or you can simply buy books on a time-by-time basis.

For those who are taking notes, you may have noticed that the Crimson Cat’s website has changed.

Audiobooks have been around for so many years, that is hard to remember quite how long ago some of us have been doing this. I think I recorded my first in the early eighties.

In the intervening years, audiobooks have both declined, and then, in more recent times, seen a growth in popularity that is quite extraordinary. Most audiobooks are now downloaded rather than bought on CD, and most often via an App like iTunes and Audible.

These services make listening to audiobooks very easy and offer options like Whispersync (Amazon/Audible) where you can keep in sync with the ebook if one is available and if the text is the same.

The crimson cat’s audiobooks have been available on Audible for some time, and to reflect the change in the market, we are rebuilding this site to direct customers to audible. However, some CDs are still available, and if you would like one or recieve a book in another form, please Contact Mike and Dee via the Contact page.
